Benefits of Relaxing
While being productive is good thing there are times when you can be too productive. You would hear a lot of successful people say that you should never take a break. Well the truth of the matter is that eventually you would need a break some what. The reason for this is because if you don’t take a short break, you would eventually burn out. Here are the benefits of relaxing.
You would be more productive
As I said earlier there is such thing as being over productive. While doing boatloads of work will make you more productive, it would eventually become taxing to your brain. This is what I call short term productivity. In the beginning it is good, but after that it is bad. This is actually going to be a bad deal if you want to be successful. You would be less stressed
When you are taking no breaks (if that’s even possible) it is very easy to become stressed out. Sometimes even the slightest external things would get you stressed. Since you can’t take the heat and the only thing you are trying to do is force yourself to keep going despite all the signals like headaches etc. So please, don’t do this to yourself.
You can spend more time with your family
This….coupled with the other things that I listed earlier can, and will be devastating to you, but this one could also be bad for your family. Not able (or worse, not willing) to spend time with your family is one of the worse things one can encounter, especially when you have kids. ( Not that I have kids, but I can image a bit ). I could give a little example from my experience, I wasn’t really speaking to my little brother that much, from the time we woke up almost to the time that we went to bed. I felt so guilty and bad, especially when he wanted to speak to me, now I spend more time with him and we are both happier:)
You would be more dedicated
I know what you’re thinking “how can I be more dedicated to what I am working on if I am relaxing and not doing what I want to do, that sounds crazy!” Well how are you going to be dedicated LONG TERM if you are not giving yourself a break, all that stress, overload and anxiety would kill your ability to stay dedicated over long periods of time.
Creativity would increase
More ideas would become available into your mind at the time during your relaxation or break. This is the time when the mind would be “recharging”. Letting go of the work that your mind usually does puts it to rest “or reset mode” like I call it. You literally would recycle the old information that you had and then new ideas would come out. So you would be able to fully use your brain again.
Your Mood would increase
All of these were would result in a mood increase. This is a no brainer if you are going to do all of these. If you do all of these things that I’ve listed here in this article, no doubt would your mood increase. Also you would be able to feel better everyday that goes by.
You would become more persistent
This is one of the most important aspects when it comes to wanting and working to achieve something. This is vital if you want to be successful. In fact it is mandatory to be persistent because success does not come overnight. So you have no choice but to be persistent. Anyways theoretically if success was indeed achieved overnight that would be boring. It sounds funny but you would actually be more persistent, because like I said you would give your brain a good break. Also if you get stressed out on your journey to prosperity, you can take a little relaxation in a small park or something, you would feel better after… Trust me
