Best books for self improvement

  1. 1. Think and Grow Rich

    Think and Grow Rich

Don’t let this name fool you, it is not JUST about getting rich financially, but mentally and physically. This book is an amazing book that I have read ( and continue to read ) that has literally changed the way I do and think about things in life. One of the things that I like about this book, is that it talks about the great leaders of the past like Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and other great people. I like the fact that it shows what steps you need to take and what principles you can use to become successful in life in a non BS way. Some of the principles are called ” Definiteness of Purpose” meaning that you need to have a purpose in life, and “autosuggestion” meaning that you have to influence your subconscious mind. If you still don’t get that, it means to train your mind to think not only positively, but to condition his/her mind to acquire the great things in life. Also one of the most important things in my opinion is that it talks about how to raise and even ELIMINATE your limitations of your subscouncious mind.

2. Rich Dad Poor Dad

Rich Dad Poor Dad

While this book is more in the financial aspect of self-improvement, this book is a must read for people who are interested in changing their future. It is for the small minority of people who are looking to and willing to take action to achieve financial freedom. Not only does this book talk about achieving financial freedom, but it also says about how you can change your mindset when it comes to money. The purpose of the book is to teach you and give you a perspective on how a poor person views money and how a rich person views money. Those two people were Robert Kiyosaki’s fathers. The poor one was his real father and the rich one was his friend’s father. In this book the author, Robert Kiyosaki describes and shares the different points of view that his two fathers had on money. This is a must read if you want to get out on what I call the rat race, and want to achieve financial freedom.

3. The seven spiritual laws of success

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

No this book is not some religious ritual book that is going to teach you about how to perform some magic tricks and become successful overnight. This book talks about real life principles that you can use in your day to day life. Once again don’t expect lightning fast results. This book is a very interesting read if you want to enhance your spiritual well being and achieve peace of mind through the laws described in this book. And speaking of spiritual stuff, this book also included meditation. So for you meditation fans  The laws here in this book, that is if you put them into action, are designed to help you achieve success and fulfillment as fast and lucrative as possible. As the title of the book says, there are 7 laws in the Universe ( natural laws ) in which you can use to propel yourself to success. One of these laws is “the law of pure potentiality”. This law states that everything you hear, taste, feel, smell, and see is pure consciousness. Another law is “the law of giving”. This law states that  the Universe operates through dynamic exchange. In other words, what you give out to the universe, you get back.

4.  What to say when you talk to yourself

What to say when you talk to yourself

I have to give a HUGE shout out to this one! This book literally changed the way I talk to myself, talk to other people an even the way I think about my self and things. What I really like about this book is that it gives non fluff advice on how to talk to your self, and what kinds of words you can, and should use depending on the situation you are at in life. In other words…..the way you talk to yourself and the type of words you use, can either break you or make you. The reason for this, as the book states, is that what ever you say or even think about yourself, those things get stored into your subconscious mind ( the part that you are not aware of ) and eventually you would be programmed in that way, whether negatively or positively. For instance, if you say you are not going to do well at your job, if you keep saying that, eventually you are going to believe it and THEN you would do bad. Why?, because you programed yourself to do it that way. So if you are looking for words ( or affirmations ) they are quite a few of them in the book for you to use.

5. Success Through a positive mental attitude

Success through a positive mental attitude

This book is basically mentioning about keeping a positive mind-set in life. While there is quite a bit of motivational talk here, this book has quite a few ideas worth reading. After all isn’t that why you are on this site? To get some motivation AND advice on how to think higher, bigger, better? It mentions different success principles that you can use, such as Personal initiative, Self- discipline, Creative vision, Organized thinking, Controlled attention ( AKA concentration of effort. )
